'The Mother of Sweet Things'
According to to the Orisha legend, the god of all gods, sent the female deity Oshun down to earth to help create a world that will bring more life and beauty. Oshun wore a gold dress and jewlery. She was dark, beautiful and graceful. While they admired her beauty, the male gods didn't believe that they needed her to create a world. Oshun didn't try to convince the male gods of her value or demanded reassurance that she was worthy, she just left. Oshun's depature caused the Earth to dry up, without water there was no plants or animals. There was no life. All the male gods attempted to bring Earth back to what it once was but all failed. They quickly realized that without Oshun the world would be barren. They pleaded and apologized for Oshun to come back. She accepted their apology and sternly warned them not to treat her dismissevly again. Upon her return, the world became fertile and beautiful.
